Doing a #wontlookwednesday while seed collecting with Mom M! As a Restoration Manager and her Bark Ranger, we go to parks and gather native seeds to grow into plants to be used for restoration activities. This preserves the local genetics and protects the ecosystem!

It’s Earth Day week which means Mom M is crazy busy with educational events, volunteer plantings, and getting people and groups large orders of native plants for their own events! This morning I’m giving her extra snuggles to help her prepare!

Yesterday I took moms and some friends out in a hike and we saw lots of beautiful wildflowers. It was a good day!

Moms voted YES on Virginia’s redistricting referendum to restore balance against Maga gerrymandering. Apparently dogs can’t vote, but if you know anyone in Virginia please remind them to vote YES by April 21st!

It’s unbearably hot outside today (3 days in a row in April over 90*F!) so mom has to be creative on how to entertain me inside. This is my new Weeble Wobble. It’s has pumpkin on top and kibble inside! It’s my new nemesis

Today I helped Mom M collect American Elm seeds at a local park. Unfortunately we didn’t find many 😞 Elms are declining throughout eastern North America due to Dutch Elm Disease so it’s becoming harder to find healthy stands of Elm to collect from.

Planting plan approved! Time to get digging, mom!

Third trip to the hardware store in as many days, we’re becoming regulars it seems! Here I’m helping moms pick out the right screws for the job!

A few outdoor safety reminders now that it’s warming up! Always have sturdy footwear and weather appropriate clothes - layers are great! And don’t forget your water, extra water, sunscreen, and bug spray (check yourself for ticks!). Stay on trail and leave no trace. Have fun exploring friends!
