for this game we were also gonna have an NES OST mode in the options, so I did some authentic remakes of the original tunes PCE does pretty well at emulating the 2A03!

you can make a multiphonic wavetable that sounds like 3 notes, and then you can stack them on 2 channels for some thick sounding chords

this tune was actually written in Deflemask, before Furnace blessed us with operator macros, so the chordpatch delaying each op was actually accomplished via some SSG-EG jank instead. crazy technique that I will literally never use again!
