New article! We went to Tucson for a few weeks back in 2019 and looked at some plants and took quite a few soil samples. We found that buffelgrass (Pennisetum ciliare) invasion was associated with lower plant diversity, and soil carbon.

You can specify relative position in ggplot with I(x) I(y). E.g. annotate("text", x = I(.5), y = I(.5), label = "hello!") will place the text in the middle of the plot. This, combined with alignment arguments is like 87% of the magic for me.

Our new MS on post-fire seeding is out! It turns out post-fire seeding at higher rates than typically used, and over multiple years gives a much greater chance of seeing success in dryland areas.
