#5debutalbums0509 #musicsky Tobacco - "Fucked Up Friends" 2008 Solo debut from the man behind Black Moth Super Rainbow. This is a lock for my top 5, and will probably be my #1 pick as well. I can't overstate how great this is, and it still sounds just as fresh today as it did then.

Saved my favourite #5DebutAlbums0509 till last Grinderman - self titled Nick Cave and co's side project that returns to their Birthday Party raw and challenging routes. With 30 more years of musical experience, and the added Warren Ellis influence, it is an excellent potent mix. #CDCollection

This morning; Samandtheplants. Give or take ‘Ys’ my favourite album of the last thirty odd years. A meandering ramble through home-made acid folk, lo-fi atmospherics, wheezing harmoniums, wonky melodies and colloquial micro tales of the North West. A shoo-in for the #5debutalbums0509 top spot.
