On this day in 2011 a collared dove arrived in our garden. It was very friendly, so we encouraged it with food. Soon there were 2, & they moved in. They or their siblings are still here. They are not the brainiest, often trying to make a nest in the lawn, dispite the ferrets, but do makevus smile.

We picked up some fence garden pots when they were on sale. Now the suns peaking out it's time to get the garden ready, with lots of help from Custard, Hershey, Swizzel & Waffle.

It's got to the stage that even the ferretts are getting fed up with all this damp weather! Fuse & Bandit have decided the indoor electric blanket is far more preferable to the bedding outside in the run.

Donut is trying hard to fit in, now the hormones are settling down. Rhubarb & Custard, Rhubarb is still arguing over the 'top dog' position, but someone warm to sleep with wins over arguments. Lastly Hershey, who loves any warm body.

Little Crunch has been here for exactly 4 weeks. In that time she has gone from a flea (& ticks) bitten, very nippy stray, to this gorgeous kissy, plumped up cuddly beauty. I think you can work out the before & after pictures

Daim is our old lady, she came from the rescue, after the guy who ran it, died, & is living out her remaining time with us. She has insulinoma, but is hopefully living her best life. She has a daily amble around the garden then curls up on her heated blanket to sleep for most of the day.

The ferrets got their Christmas present early, mainly because it's hard to hide a 4ft wooden wheel... We have been sitting here all evening watching them having a great time with it. Swizzels & Skittles arguing over it.

Custard is being a "carpet shark" tonight.

We got back home, just made a cup of tea, & got a call that they had caught it in a humain trap. So back out again. After a few hard nips getting it out of the trap & into a carrier. Having got home, we find we have picked up this pile of ticks covering a very sharp set of teeth!!!

Had a strange day, we were asked to help catch a stray ferret spotted in someones compost heap, so first thing this morning we took Swizzels & Waffle round to this garden to try & lure it out. No luck. At dusk, we went for a walk around the local area in case it had come out for food, no luck again.

This day 15 years ago, according to my photo memories, we had snow. The ferrets were really excited, but a bit miffed the sledge wouldn't go on it's own, so tried to push it. I had to put the camera down, & join in.

Suz made the Christmas cake today. My job is grease & line the tins. This involves butter over my hands (I struggle with messy hands!), but at least, as a reward I get to lick the utensils clean. Waffle loved my butter covered fingers, then moved onto the cake mix bowl (don't tell anyone)...

Trying to make something on the sewing machine, but Swizzels seems to know more about it than me. She is just so much help....

We went to Samphire Hoe today. We took Swizzels & Waffle as well. Swizzels decided it was cold enough to need a snood.

For some reason, our other ferrets were not very welcoming to Swizzels, & while we spent huge amounts of time with her, we knew she needed a "fuzzy" friend. We got Waffle, & they hit it off straight away. Since then, most of the others have come round, but these 2 are a formidable pair.

We had Poppet who would climb up the back of the tumble dryer, squeeze between its top & the bottom of the surface, then pinch a gravy bone & get back down. The only clue was the knocked over box until we caught her red pawed.

This is Fuse, he's 5 1/2 & a real little monster. 1 1/2 years ago he was very ill, & it seemed like we would have to make a very hard decision. Luckily after a few scary days & a lot of money he pulled round. He is on some pretty funky tablets, & has had the odd relapse, but what a stunner he is.💕💗

Anyone tried these lens wipes? I find they seem to have rather sharp bits when you try to get them out of the box.
