Keep preachin'! I think we need to also reduce the stigma around the word "play". It may be hard to say that you're letting your students PLAY in your AP Calculus class but what you're asking them to do is explore, investigate, draw conclusions, and support their understanding. That's education!

A3 When we minimize play in education, we lose curiosity, creativity, and connection. Learning becomes performative, not authentic. Risk feels dangerous, not generative. Without play, we raise students who comply but rarely question, wonder, or innovate. #EduSkyAU

Obviously someone doesn't realize or understand the complexity of actual learning or the role of educators. "Childcare"? Couldn't be further off the mark. Let's not even get started on learner agency...

Engagement is an investment. Investments require currency to invest with. In the case of learning these are often social currencies. The real question is what type of currencies are we asking for. Do students possess those currencies and how do we bridge the gap if they don't? #EduSky #UDL #UDLChat

Yes! Yes! The data we receive in schools as educators is often an autopsy of struggles and doesn't give any room for diagnosis or proper interventions into those struggles.
