Just saw this rather large bobcat walk up to this flock of wild turkeys in the backyard. A lot of commotion, but I think the bobcat was reluctant to take on 15 turkeys at once.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes. The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last. The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes. Why? It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

This weekly roundup is a good reminder that earthquakes happen everyday in California. While most are small, eventually there will be one that will be disruptive and, knowing this, it is best to be prepared.

The San Ramon earthquake cluster seems to be dying off, but this behavior could pick up again. There isn’t a way to say for sure what is next, which is why we focus on preparedness, rather than prediction. Hopefully this pattern continues and activity continues to diminish with time.
