This part stood out to me particularly. Microsoft's investment into LLM data centers is cannibalizing other parts of the company. And after all of that, Copilot performs worse, and loses in benchmarks compared to Claude or GPT models. So what's the point? Sigh.

Despite a report this morning, I can confirm that Obsidian is *not* in negotiations to avoid shutting down. Plenty of details are still up in the air surrounding the layoffs (picture will be clear on Monday) but Xbox is keeping Obsidian, according to people familiar with the situation.

I think the big lesson from this is that we saw what is happening and just assumed the situation to be absolutely plausible without question. Essentially going “well that tracks.” Which is also a huge Xbox issue when it comes to the brand as a whole.

I reviewed Witchfire in Early Access over 2 years ago and I was already thoroughly impressed. Since then @theastronauts.bsky.social have continued to build and expand the game. It's at 0.9 now with 1.0 targeting late this year. I cannot recommend it enough. Give it a look!

I’m not sure many realize just how fundamental of a change this will be to how the entire internet functions. Google is the primary driver of site traffic, and much of what sites do for clicks is to improve algorithmic priority. Wiping that out will basically eliminate sites’ income model.
