One of the achievements in Final Fantasy 5 is to master every job. I thought this meant mastering them among all characters. Nope, it means at least one character mastering EVERY job. 😭

Not sure if this is canon across all Final Fantasy games, but in FF5, female chocobos cannot be ridden. Only males. 🤔

I installed a mod for Final Fantasy 5 which now shows main character portraits with the textbox during convos. I really wish I had done this as well with FF4, but better late than never. Can't wait to do the same for FF6.

There's a section in Final Fantasy 5 where you have a time limit to escape a location. Oh, and getting into random encounter battles will not pause the timer. Oh and there are 15 missable chests in this area...and some of them are booby trapped with monsters as well. 😭

1st game of 2026: Final Fantasy 4 2nd FF game with a dedicated protagonist, and very dark vibes. Only annoyance gameplay wise was managing 4 airships. Also, one of my pet peeves of fantasy fiction is the mind control trope which I feel is cheap. Despite that, I enjoyed the story and characters.

Still processing the fact that one of Sora, Donald, and Goofy's Trinity powers is bumping into each other like the Three Stooges to bypass blocked paths. 😭😭😭

Didn't post any pizza propaganda last week, so here's a chicken Alfredo pizza.

The Flan Princess has a 1/64 encounter rate. But since the Pixel Remaster allows you to buy the Siren item, you can trigger these encounters automatically one after another. After 11 battles, I got a Pink Tail drop. And now I finally have the best armor in Final Fantasy 4, Adamant Armor. 😮‍💨

I'm enjoying Final Fantasy 4, but annoyed of how many airships you have to manage. Ideally, you'd have one ship that gets upgraded over time to sail water, fly over lava, etc. But instead, you get separate ship for each terrain...which means having to keep track of 4 different ships. 😭

Still early in Kingdom Hearts 1, but the vibes I get from Sora, Riku, and Kairi is a similar to Team 7 from Naruto. Sora = Naruto Kairi = Sakura Riku = Sasuke Curious to see how things develop further in the plot. 👀

One of my best friends graduated med school, but I couldn't attend his graduation. So I treated him to some spicy prawn noodle soup while it rains today. 😌

Here is my final list of games I completed in 2025, although not completely in chronological order. I managed to complete a total of 60 titles beginning with SMT IV: Apocalypse and ending with SIGNALIS.

Final Fantasy 4 has one of the darkest starts I've seen in a Final Fantasy game, let alone RPG. The game quite literally starts off with the protagonist Cecil Harvey leading an army and massacring civilians, albeit reluctantly. Damn.

Expedition 33 made me want to learn French. Xenogears made me want to learn Japanese and Hebrew. SIGNALIS makes me want to learn German. I wish the tech existed where I could input a data chip into my neural interface and be completely fluent in these languages.

I remembered this and wanted to give a massive shoutout to @mightymog.bsky.social, one of the first friends I made back on Twitter. I started this Resident Evil marathon because Mog gifted me the entire series on Steam and told me to play it because they were too scary for him at the time. 😌

I just fought a boss in FF4 called, "MOM BOMB." Before and after MOM MODE.

Every Resident Evil game: Need to open BIG DOOR. BIG DOOR requires Doodoo Key. Doodoo key requires you to spin 3 times and combine the Mewmew Stick with the Moomoo Head. But to combine them, you need the Baabaa Glue. But Baabaa Glue is located in the Bonkbonk Basement, which requires a key...

The hardest part of playing Final Fantasy pixel remaster games is having the patience for rare creature spawns so you can complete the bestiary. 😔

Despite my frustrations, I completed SOMA on Normal! Since I've read many classic and transhumanist sci-fi stories, I saw the ending in SOMA arriving from a mile away. That said, I'm glad to see more games explore these philosophical topics. Really excited to see the devs' next title, ONTOS.

Finished FF3. Definitely a lot less darker story compared to its predecessor FF2. That said, I enjoyed the overall story and loved the job system customization. Now onto FF4.
