Next on the list of AI-slop annoyances: When I travel or will need to say a name or a place in a language I don't speak, I try to find a video to hear a native speaker (or at least someone knowledgeable!) so I say it right. A sea of unexamined AI-generated videos is making this increasingly hard.

The best thing about the internet is (nearly) free access to endless quantities of information about anything I could possibly want to learn about. The worst thing about the internet is that I do not have enough lifetimes for every rabbit hole that catches my eye.

Now that space is rarely an issue, I find it hard to actually delete apps I don't use. Like travel apps that are a little reminder of some city I'm probably not going back to anytime soon. Or apps that I'm "totally going to use one day." They're the "but it's a really good box" of my app list.

It's #UNOpenSourceWeek! ASF President @suehle.bsky.social‬'s opening remarks celebrated the alignment of #OpenSource goals and those of the UN Charter. ASF members also served as hackathon judges for projects focused on the effects of climate change on the lives of children around the world.

I was doing 100 other things dudring this event (just out of frame to the left!), but I did manage to make edits to one page as a part of the edit-a-thon!
