Fab day in Edinburgh, talking to surgeons about those difficult conversations with patients ‘when it all goes wrong’. It’s a fab course, being rolled out to Birmingham next year.

We found an old guy sitting in our drive, soaked in the rain. My instinct was that maybe he had dementia. No, he was just v drunk. After much persuasion he told us his address & we took him home. His wife opened the door & gave us that angry “did you get my husband drunk” look. Little did she know!

Starter packs and lists are too clubby. Let's all take responsibility for alerting their owners to names that should be on there. And yes I am talking about equality, diversity, inclusion and decolonising. Find the list owner, suggest a name(s). Simples.

Today I learnt that the needle exchange programme isn’t just about the needle, it’s also ensures that users have syringes without any deadspace where blood can collect.

Bluesky seems a nice enough place to say this. If you go to your industry/academic conference and spend all your time catching up with professional friends - you are part of the reason newcomers call the conference “cliquey and unwelcoming”. If you’re established, talk to newcomers. It’s that easy.
