On this day in 1979, Bauhaus unleashed the definitive goth DJ toilet-break record 'Bela Lugosi’s Dead' onto the unsuspecting populus. For some reason it's harder to acquire the standard 12" black vinyl version than the picture disc with glow in the dark text.

I'm unable to stop thinking about the rave/cybergoth cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Freebird' that I'd heard online last night. While it was a considerably faster beat than the original because 'oontz oontz oontz', it still managed to run for 3-5 business days, just like the original version. 😶
