Having to watch another penalty shootout

I went to an event that @roxanegay.bsky.social spoke at last night in Dublin. In response to a question (that I forget), she said that “first, women need to be seen as people.” This was in larger conversation around sexual and gender which obviously Roxane always had brilliant commentary on.

So weird to see colleges promoting their USNWR grad school rankings today like grad students aren’t being disappeared by their government.

Reading is obviously a big part of the early days of a PhD. I’m going to keep a thread of books, lectures, podcasts, and articles that I read that I find most interesting - particularly related to technology & race, gender, class.

I’m not spending another 15 years of my life on this. It suffices to say: 1. How do you ask “right questions” with “zero education”? 2. Who would want that? 3. Are you afraid enough in your white collar job to finally accept that AI is pure labor busting?

In a somewhat hilarious moment of life imitating art, my personal instagram was permanently disabled today due an unknown community standards violation - there is no way to learn more or reach out to ig. Really bringing the relationship of trust and explainable AI to front of mind!
