Found a game in 1934 between the Philadelphia Bacharach Giants (who joined the Negro National League mid-season) and the Meadowbrooks (semi-pro team in Newark NJ), where they used designated hitters! Arguably, Jess Hubbard was the first “major-league” player to serve as a DH.

I just watched Home Alone for the first time (it came on after Jeopardy so we thought we’d give it a shot). And it was WAY better than I expected it to be. It’s not It’s a Wonderful Life or a Muppet Christmas Carol. But it was quite good. Merry Christmas!
