My favorite form of self-medicating is listening to video-game podcasts. I'm an OLD gamer—enthusiastically mashing buttons since the original Magnavox Odyssey in the 70s—and I love passing the time with the folks at @dlchypetrain.bsky.social, @giantbomb.bsky.social , and @nextlander.bsky.social.

I'm a big fan of the "Twinkly" brand of programmable holiday lights—full-color RGB patterns are controlled via an iPhone app. We keep the porch lights up all year and program different colors for different holidays. We even keep a string up in our living room for some mood lighting during TV time.

Wicked is terrific, it improves on the stage version in almost every way. I was worried about the running time going in because I knew it was only Act I of the Musical, but they earn it... the director is willing to take time with a scene, which I appreciate. Acting was terrific all around…

Anniversary is this weekend and my wife says that she wants so see Wicked… we really only like the nearby Dolby theater and guess what? The whole weekend is sold out. Guess what else? The Dolby switches to Moana 2 next weekend… only a 1 week window to see the movie we want in the theater we want. :/
