And now for something completely different. Hebrew pledge notes, for a gospel which was pawned to Canterbury's Jews (several times). This one is special because it was stored, prior to the Reformation just yards away from where I wrote my PhD.

Only six commodity bonds, produced after the Statute of the Jewry (1275) survive, and four of them have Hebrew - so I get the pleasure of transcribing them (genuinely therapeutic!). Lacks the simple elegance of an acknowledgement but you can't have everything! TNA C 146/1360.
