And just like that, my MSW journey comes to an end. Eleven years ago, I never imagined going back to school—let alone earning a master’s degree. By the grace of God (as I understand God) and recovery, here we are. Next step: licensure. In the interim? Taking life one day at a time.

While I enjoyed RE: Requiem, I'm genuinely tired of spending $70+ on games with 12 - 13 hours of playtime. Especially games from enormous developers. Pathologic 3 (which I adored) took 50 hours to finish - and the game still has major replayability. Plus, it's from a small, indie developer.

So they say universities may start bringing back oral exams to test what students have learned and applied throughout the semester. Why? Because of the proliferation of AI in quizzes, essays, and more. Dude, I love talking about what I've learned. I'd take an oral exam over a paper any day.

It was, or is, an absolutely beautiful day to get out and go for a run. It's been a minute! Between juggling homeownership and the last semesters of grad school, I've been busy. Today, I chose to not let my anxiety control me - I chose to care for myself. For this I am immensely grateful!

One of my biggest gripes about social services, especially when assisting marginalized populations, is the number of meetings organizations and agencies have to determine "what we can do better." When 80% of our time is spent in meetings, only 20% remains to make any type of impact.

While Indiana—along with states such as Minnesota—has been a national leader in initiatives addressing substance use disorder (SUD) and recovery, many of these innovative programs continue to fall short in addressing barriers to basic needs.

To complicate matters further, many of these low-income areas are classified as food deserts (shaded purple), meaning residents live more than 1+ mile from the nearest grocery store. Within these recovery residences, many lack access to transportation, making it even more difficult to obtain food.
