Was trying to learn some blender animation techniques and got frustrated with the way the instructor was modeling so I followed along using my own workflow, got to a section where they require an addon that they made but do not share and it’s not publicly listed anywhere, so I RE’d my own…

I really need to set aside some funds and get a new cpu, motherboard and ram… watching the Xeon hit 100% over and over is making me sad.

If I was still running my old GPU I would be distraught about the error I caught in my render after it was halfway done and I noticed an error I left in. Now I’m just gonna let it ride and if it’s noticeable in the animation I’ll go back to fix it.

Spent a while last night working in blender and for the life of me can’t figure out what is incorrect on this part. I think I need to walk it back and start it fresh.

I gave away a ton of @printedsolid.bsky.social Jessie PLA recently to local people that were either getting into 3D printing or needed filament for projects and the one constant bit of feedback I got was “this stuff prints better than anything else I’ve tried”. I just wish they made ABS/ASA lol.

Just had to chase myself off of eBay, I want a graphics tablet but know I shouldn’t buy one right now I have other priorities. But dang 125 bucks for an xp-pen artist 16 gen 2 seems like a good deal…

GPU udate, they say it will be here tomorrow now, it looks like it’s taking a different route than they normally use, we shall see.

Got excited and ordered a new GPU they said should be here Monday, got tracking… it’s being shipped via fedex. I swear the island from cast away is their hub nearest to me. 🤞 it makes it in a timely manner.

Waited around all day and finally got my delivery… they shipped the wrong size… big sad

Date confirmed, going to pick up the next project this weekend. Super excited for the “pain” this will bring hahaha.

So I rehab lots of 3D printers and other tech in my free time and usually don’t share much of it as it is incredibly boring content wise. I just got a call offering something that I think would be a cool rehab/update project and can’t wait.

I just want a true faithful remake of No One Lives Forever or at least a rerelease for modern systems. I hope one day someone can get permission to dig through the dusty old filing cabinets to determine who owns the rights.

That was a nightmare, had to swap the power supply in my NAS and it refused to boot after, somehow I knocked one stick of ram loose, I can’t wait to migrate this to its new hardware as soon as the new rack gets here.

Sometimes you just don’t print out enough bolts hahaha, I have to laugh or else I’ll cry.

Shaking my head so hard while talking to my friend and they can’t wrap their head around me having symmetrical 1gig fiber and not wanting any “smart” appliances or tvs. I am fully committed to being on team dumb appliances. I even complain about my voron being on its own network lol.

I am still impressed by my original SV06 series printers running @marlinfw.org fired up the plus for the first time in about a year, loaded some PETG that has been open in a Florida garage and sent it without even thinking about it. Not perfect but it works.

So fun fact you can use the original base extrusions from an ender 3 (non-pro) as a giant base for the original VLMP from @adam-v3d.bsky.social. It’s ridiculous and I did it just for a laugh but now I am thinking it could be useful to slap a drawer in there.

Wow I just did the research to figure out what terminals and housings I need to make “DuPont” wire type connections with the proper quality parts and dang that’s expensive, not even counting the proper crimping tool.

This may be a silly question but why haven’t I seen anyone (could have missed it) setup recirculation of the exhaust on a trident to keep the chamber warm/consistent. I know Nevermore and bed fans work but it seems like an obvious experiment to me.

Debating swapping my side panels out from the acrylic to something a little more substantial and light blocking. @canuckcreator.bsky.social do you have any suggestions for tridents that both blocks light and insulates decently?

Wow went to go pickup some m3 hardware locally because I was running really low and got quoted 90 cents per m3x10 ummmm I walked away and ordered 100 from one of the other local suppliers for 5 bucks to pick up in the morning. That’s just greed on a weekend.

The curse of using a hardware kit that comes with black stainless bolts(screws) is as I am working my way outwards I have run out so now all of my hinges and accessories have standard stainless hardware and it does not match… oh well I guess I’ll spend some time with a sharpie to make it match.

Looking for a supplier for some HX25002-2R housings and associated pins, I am surprised nobody stocks these in the US. I don’t want premade extension cables I need to make some custom bits lol.

Playing with some “neopixels” tonight after a long time and have to keep telling myself “no… I don’t need to make the printer throw up like a drunk unicorn”.

I think tonight is gonna be exhaust night and do some paneling up. I am exhausted from the day but I am enjoying making progress.

Whoever thought that ultra rigid wire was the right choice for the stealthburner LEDs that came with this harness should be reprimanded very very harshly, I’m cutting it off, assembling it without LEDs wired and I’ll fix it properly… eventually.

I’m taking bets as to if my taps get delivered before or after the sun goes down, I don’t think I’ve received an Amazon delivery before sundown in over a year so that’s where my money is going.

Waiting on some taps to come in and I am not sure why I have virtually no motivation to push forward on the trident build today.
