Things can apparently move pretty fast … when the maintainer needs a feature. That’s more or less how he got into this mess in the first place! Please give your C++ coder friends a #3DPrinter with Marlin because they’ll be unable to resist improving and fixing the things that bug them.

Pro tip: Try rotating your squarish print objects by 45 degrees on the bed for faster top perimeter print speeds. 45 degree diagonals have a top speed 1.44 times higher than true lines. This is partly why infill is customarily oriented at 45 degrees to the bed.

The paper cited here makes some assumptions about G-code, presuming a certain style of processing. While it’s true Marlin 2.1.3 now needs an M400 stop to change some motion parameters via G-code, that can be cured with a “callback” planner block. I’ll prototype that now…. #3DPrinting #RepRap

For reliable sensorless homing with Trinamic stepper drivers, tune your homing speeds to spin the motors at ~30 RPM. For a typical bed-slinger that's a feedrate of 1200 mm/min for an average homing time of > 5 seconds per sensorless axis. #3DPrinting #RepRap
