My daughter is surpassing my skill in CAD by a wide margin. I am going to need to have her teach me a few things. Even though she's using Solidworks, I'm pretty sure some of the things she is doing will translate over to FreeCAD.

Are mini-XLR cables really that much of a specialty item? It's easy to find balanced stereo cables with XLR to 3.5mm TRS, but I'll be darned if I can find the equivalent with mini-XLR.

I'm sorry. I'm hopeless. Normally, this yellow jacket wasp would be a real pest. However, it was super sleepy due to the chill in the air and landed on one of our plates after we had finished eating dinner outside. My wife and I let it chill and enjoy some leftovers.

We know we will ultimately be unable to save this bee. It will succumb to the cold and lack of food soon enough. However, we help because it is kind to do so. Be kind to one another, even if you think it's a lost cause.

OK, I wasn't disappointed. This was a fun video to watch. (I know, I'm a nerd.) It gives me a much better understanding of why certain motors might be used in some applications, and why all this time later, we really haven't gotten past stepper motors in most 3D printers.

I went to a well-known coffee chain for a latte, because I was away from home and couldn't make one. The milk was warm, but there was no microfoam. It was essentially hot milk with espresso. I'm spoiled. I like mine better. 😅

Got OneUI 8.0 / Android 16 for my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Hit a couple of regressions (like glitchy swiping to cascade notifications from the lock screen & WiFi connectivity seemingly disconnecting at random despite solid network). I struggle to see what has changed for the better in any way.
