the IT job market is so broken. we badly need more generalists who are able to deal with the increasing level of uncertainty at all levels, who are able to connect the dots and derive sensible actions. instead, the industry only looks for highly specialized people, suitable for a long gone world :/

very interesting keynote, imo. lots of ideas worth pondering. you do not need to agree with everything, jurgen says – and i guess, jurgen also does not expect you to agree with everything he says :) – but i think he makes a lot of good points. thus, time well spent, imo.

a thought: if ai is able to replace a majority of white collar jobs, it is not a proof of how smart ai has become but proof of how dumb most jobs have become. maybe we do not need more ai, but smarter jobs. (ai can still be useful but in a different way.)
