After doing #Java #Swing, #JavaFX and #SwiftUI for years I came to the conclusion that we might have a lack of developers that understand how to create #graphics in 2D. It is so easy and even if #Swing is a bit older it is absolutely great for doing nice graphical things…just my 0.02€ 🤷🏼‍♂️😁

Personally, I haven't seen web AI boosters do anything *except* cede this tech to others, and go with the chatbot flow. I'm refusing to cede my work to software that I've only seen used to lower standards & threaten jobs. If I see some other use, without all the harms, I'll get on board with *that*.

#JCrete was amazing as always. It was so good to be back on Crete. It felt like coming home ❤️ My kids liked it very much as well. They will miss the daily swimming. But now the want to go to the playground at home immediately 🙂 We are lucky to have very patient kids. Travel time was long.

my dudes there's no such thing as "too late" to regulate AI, that's a fake idea. AI models aren't untouchable data gods, they're algorithms hosted in cloud storage. Saying we can't regulate AI is like saying we can't deplatform Child P*rn bc "it's already out there". Like, 1s and 0s can be deleted

Love this article from @csswizardry.com! I've seen similar struggles from clients. These are my favorite nuggets: - "open-source vendor lock-in" - "The stack owns you" - "you should never need to call pest control twice" - "if you’re going to use [a framework], I shouldn’t be able to smell it"

What a terrible idea! The value of unit tests is that it prompts you to think about what the unit needs to do, before you write the code. Writing the code first and auto-generating unit tests afterwards is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
