The homicide rates for the cities of Camden, NJ (16.7 per 100k) and Philadelphia, PA (14.1 per 100k) nearly converged in 2025. Both continued their downward trajectories. Welcomed news.

I get it that @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social made those disparaging comments about @nypdnews.bsky.social in 2020 (& as late as 2023), but a lot of people made wacky comments following the summer of racial reckoning. Keeping Jessica Tisch on as commissioner is a refreshing 1st move.

The Camden Co Prosecutor Office reported 3 homicides in the city of Camden the past few weeks since the reporting of 0 homicides in summer '25. In 2012, Camden, NJ's homicide rate was 18X higher than the national average. In 2024, it was 4.7X higher.
