I have three books on the official list, plus an anthology I have a story in. (Not sure the anthology is worth trying to trace through because it's long out of print, the editor is dead, and the publisher didn't interact with the individual contributors.)

OK, ok, I need to stop being coy and self-effacing. I am DELIGHTED that my work in making lesbian history accessible for authors of historical fiction is being recognized in books that used my work. My ultimate goal is to never again hear an author of a sapphic historical say "There's no sources."

Just finished listening to the audiobook of Ladies in Hating by Alexandra Vasti and had a startling and pleasant surprise in the acknowledgements. IYKYK.

#3 2001 long-list nominees A.E. Cunningham for "Jack Vance Critical Appreciations and a Bibliography" and R. G. Young for "The Encyclopedia of Fantastic Film: Ali Baba to Zombies" seem to have no identifiable online footprint and due to the use of initials I can't even make guesses. Any clue?

#2 Is there any gender information for Bigolas Dickolas Wolfwood? (I've found some indications that this person specifically does not wish to have any identifying information circulated, which I would certainly respect.)

#1 Can anyone help me identify gender for the hosts of 2024 nominee Science Fiction Fans Buma (布玛 / Buma,刘路 / Liu Lu, 刘倡 / Liu Chang)? I'm sure I could track down the information if I were fluent in Chinese, but alas that is not in my skill set.

Crowd-sourcing some research for my geeky statistical analysis of what fans nominate for Best Related Work. I'm trying to track the gender of authors/creators for statistical purposes and have run into a few dead ends whether either the information isn't online or there's too much confounding data.+

Working on one of the introductory chapters to my "lesbian history for authors" book and I find myself typing "Wait a minute, I need to digress about prototype theory, because that’s another important concept here." This is going to be a very long book, isn't it?

There are some tasks I put off needlessly because I have a mental block. Patching bike tubes is one of them. (Once I've replaced the tube with a new one, what's the rush to patch the old one?) So today I had enough accumulated that I went for it. Patched 3, but couldn't find the leak on the 4th.

Sometimes when I refresh my hair color, I contemplate how much of a tragic mistake it would be to try the same color on my eyebrows. (My eyebrows are sparse and very blonde, making them functionally invisible. My hair color primarily involves royal blue.)

Huh, going through my podcast files, I found an in-process script for an episode that I never finished or recorded. About 80% complete. That will come in handy. I'm currently working on identifying prospective book chapters that I could write as podcast scripts.

Well gosh darn it. Weather conditions mean the ferry trip out to Tiritiri Matangi for birdwatching got cancelled. The only bad weather day in our entire visit. (That is, the only day that weather interfered with plans. We’ve had serious rain on both driving days, as well as overnight.)

Went to the Auckland Zoo today because I couldn’t bear to leave NZ without seeing an actual kiwi. Decided it was ok to check off birds on my ID list as long as I marked the location as “zoo” and I genuinely IDed them without needing the exhibit labels.
