I am internalizing that hope and fear come from the same place of insecurity. They're both an attachment to an outcome: you want good to happen, you don't want bad to happen. Allowing whatever to happen and trusting I can handle it has helped my frustration levels. Worrying is suffering twice.

can the people criticizing this policy please try to imagine what it's like to go to cons for work, sometimes a lot of them very close together, sitting in the highest traffic area of the entire convention for 8+ hours a day, and trying your hardest not to get sick, so you can keep paying your bills

Why masking in 2026? Beyond COVID it's still cold and flu season, dealers can't opt out of their own sales room, and most don't get any kind of sick pay. I have also heard some mention how art is their profession in part because of chronic illness or disability, so the stakes differ vs the public.

I see rows of beach front property on soils that'll easily liquify during the earthquake, with one shitty road to escape from, miles away from high ground... My internal sense for reckless indulgent stupidity would never let me do something like live there omg it's a death wish.

For the last month I've been focused on a painting series (20 finished with a dozen more in the works) involving themes that I'm scared to share. I've been writing a statement to go along with them and with a little help from my loved ones it's gone from a very defensive "The paintings speak

They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time. Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief. Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time. Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.

The only two visual perks I know of that come with my colorblindness are how sage/sagebrush foliage is bright ass turquoise, and freshly slaughtered pig meat is emerald green. And I get that on top of better low-light vision 😎
