With the base overworld mechanics close to being fully implemented, we're ready to finally start revamping the battle system as well! Here's a look at some new animations, new UI, and new.. well, everything! (though the background is currently just a placeholder.) [🔊Sound on!]

Another move has been fully implemented! As we've said earlier, as the replacement for Mario & Luigi's bros. moves, Plink will transform into various tools for our heroes to use on the overworld. Here's the first one you'll receive in this game - the Plinkoline!

So, probably a hot take, but I think the problem with most modern Pokemon game MCs is that they now look dressed more like influencers rather than actual characters first. I know they're supposed to be the player's avatar, but still...some sauce is missing (Legends Arceus MCs were cool though)

Pokemon Legends Z-A shows that GF is definitely still in need to improve their visuals, but it already shows improvements over their last attempts. There was some intriguing stuff in the trailer, so I'm still in the optimistic range.

Gotta say, I had several doubts about the new Spider-Man series, but it's showing a lot of potential and better writing than I expected. I got some nitpicks and I wish they went with 2D with this style, but I am now more optimistic.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the Fantastic 4 trailer. It technically does things right, but there's also a lot of little gripes that altogether, kinda makes me worried.

The new Mario & Luigi game breaking a million fills me with relief. I think the newest game wasn't perfect, but it definitely had its heart in the right place and I'd love to see what the new team at Acquire can do now that they'd have some hindsight.

I swear, having played 4 Tales games now, it feels like the characters are always their strongest element. Even when the story itself isn't a masterpiece, I always find myself attached to the cast.

On the 2nd of February 1980, the 1st Episode of Invincible Robo Trider G7 aired. Produced by Sunrise, it ran for 50 episodes. It debuted in Shin SRW (PS1) in 1996 & would return in later SRW games. It even had combination attacks with Daitarn 3 & Zambot 3 in SRW Z2 & Z3. Happy 45th Anniversary 🎉

On the 1st of February 1997, the 1st episode of GaoGaiGar aired. The 8th & final Brave TV series, it ran for 49 episodes, received an OVA sequel - GaoGaiGar Final in 2000 & a novel sequel with Betterman in 2016. It debuted in SRW Alpha 2 (PS2) in 2003. Happy 28th Anniversary 🎉

This could've been an amazing game if it wasn't handled the way it was. Between the live service model, the self-aware humor of the dialogues and the gameplay issues between beta and final release, it just had so much against it. The soundtrack was so, SO good though.

It took a while but I finally made it to the end of Xenoblade 2. It's not perfect, but damn, I grew attached to the characters by the end. Something about this series that keeps nailing its themes, its joys and its tragedies. I cried with both games. Let's see if X3 does the same!

I've only played through 2 worlds of SMB Wonder so far, but if this keeps up, we really got something worth of being a true follow-up to Super Mario World. Every aspect of this game is just sheer joy.

Sonic Superstars, so far, is pretty good, even if not on Mania levels. I like to compare it more to a Game Gear Sonic title. Imperfect, but it has some quirky ideas and concepts that keep things interesting.

There was a genuine hype moment near the end of Detective Pikachu 2 and god, I wish the writing was just a little more mature so that everything would land better. Still somewhat better than the movie though. Lots of things made more sense, at the very least.
