Even in a month full of notable highs and lows, one stood out: during September, the Irish grid emitted its least amount of CO₂ in a single month in modern times. Our estimate is 577k tonnes. A lot but, as the chart below shows, just a few years ago we were seeing months with almost *1.4M tonnes*.`

Despite the noise, renewables keep rising now generating more electricity than coal. @iea.org halved its US outlook, but raised India’s by 10%, putting it on track as the No. 2 growth market after China. MENA up 23%, driven by Saudi wind and solar.

Australia's grid operator has a clear line of sight to 100% renewables. There's nothing unknown or exotic required. It'll be fun when the first large/major economies start hitting the goal. Too bad the US is likely to be at the rear of the pack.
