DMA statement - Durham Miners Gala and Reform UK
Reform UK have chosen to criticise us publicly for not inviting them to the Gala. They obviously don’t understand how this works, so we will explain...

Scarthin Books. Inarguably the best book shop in the Peaks. Complete with stellar views, book nooks, vegan café and bags of character.

Leawood Pump House, by the Cromford Canal that it provided water for. It ran from 1849 to 1944 and was restored in 1979. It still runs periodically, where it's open to visitors. The pump draws water from the River Derwent 30 ft below the canal, and has a capacity of 39k tons per day.

And Scarthin Rock is signed as being closed but people are still climbing it. On the rock side facing Church Walk the jackdaws are gearing up for their breeding/nesting season. Plenty of wheeling and shrieking. A wonderful and familiar sight and sound

Church Walk at the back of Cromford mill is signed as being closed but isn’t although has been dug up in a random way - is this more tree removal?
