Elasticsearch did a convenient thing with storing the document _source, but for so many use-cases, it's redundant. Trying to think about reasons why—for, you know, search—it should ever be used, and that list is coming up a lot shorter than reasons not to store it… 🤔

Timed myself yesterday when setting up a new M4 MacBook Pro yesterday. It took less than 15 minutes to go from packaging off to fully useful development environment. Nix is magic, y'all. Steps: iCloud, Jamf, 1Password, GitHub, Google, Nix, nix-darwin (from cloned configs), then run whatever I want.
