I was discussing a short story I didn't remember writing, and I delivered this message to my publisher.

I hope most people enjoy my stories, but there are exceptions. Some folks are exerting an outsize--one might say an unconstitutional--amount of influence. I hope it worries them when they read about unity and triumph over cartoonish evil, because people might choose it over what they're peddling.

I have the news thing on my Windows PC that pops up randomly where the news would otherwise be. I want to change it so it always just says "The Horrors Persist."

So, Hatsune Miku has ankle-length hair, right? What happens when she sits down? Does she gather it up? Does she have a dedicated hair guy, like a job-specific roadie? She's digital, do they retract like vacuum cleaner cable? These are normal thoughts for a 42 year old man.

My brother was watching a documentary that mentioned a natural disaster. "Roofs were ripped free by wind, boats torn loose from their moorings..." And I, walking through, added, "Potatoes were shootin' outta stuff." I then literally laughed myself to tears. So, you know. That's where I'm at.

You know how Legend of Zelda has multiple distinct styles, while Super Mario Bros tends to adhere much more closely to a single style range? Imagine if Nintendo normalized having a similar range of art style across their whole catalog. That'd be neato.

Ages ago, I was poking around on Deviant Art looking for an artist for a book cover. I encountered someone who was clearly reposting other people's art as his own. Like, every single post was an entirely different style, and within the top five comments was the original artist calling them out.

I've just revised 20,000 words of story I wrote over 4 years ago. It was... and experience. Another 100,000 to go. The goal is to get at least one solid, satisfying book out of it. If I'm a good boy, I can tack on another 140,000 or so and make it THREE books.

I've finally rewired my brain enough to get rolling on the wide release of The Bygone Dagger. Expect that release announcement soon. All six of those books will be made wide in rapid succession. At least, that's the plan.

I watched the new Superman movie. Really enjoyable. I won't spoil anything, but it did make the following things clear to me: 1. Mummy-era Brendan Fraser would have been a great Superman. 2. I think Tom Cruise would be a top tier Lex Luthor. 3. I'd love to have seen Bill Burr as Guy Gardner.

I wonder if there's a name for English words that are gender neutral unless specifically used to indicate gender. "Hey Guys!" means everyone in the room. "Just the guys" means... just the guys.
