I just defeated the Phantom boss in Silksong, and I have to say, it's one of the most exciting victories I've had in a video game in years. I was losing it when I got the new spell. "Losing it" as in, I made *a very suggestive noise*. I'm so glad I wasn't streaming Silksong at the time OH MY GOD

Installing "one sec" on my phone has been a big help with preventing doomscrolling and I would definitely recommend it for everyone. one-sec.app

Silksong is almost the perfect sequel for me. Its engrossing story and world. Thrilling music and boss choreography. Some characters have instantly-iconic personalities. Hornet's movement is a compelling change. There is so much to love here. What I'm not loving is double-damage on everything! 💔

I'm always thinking how I should document my code, and I had an epiphany. Code must be self-documenting. i.e, intuitive variable names. (No magic numbers!) There are times when optimized or cursed code needs explanation, of course. Maybe sometimes it's good to explain what our code ISN'T doing?

It hurts to work on sprites that are such huge spoilers for Freedom Planet Academy's story, and not being able to share them yet. Like, this is the biggest spoiler in the game. I wish I could share it with y'all right now! ; ^ ;💔But y'all will see it soon.

After that long detour with making bosses, enemies, and music for Final Nightmare, it's time to make Beihai Bay a fully playable stage! I am eager to work on the stage once Penitent Squid is ready. Pixel will harass the player, possessing various enemies. Her antics will influence the stage layout.

I have to admit, I am SO burned out on coding bosses! ; ^ ; I spent all of last night on my next game instead of Penitent Squid After this boss, I need take a break and work on stages + cutscenes. Freedom Planet's quantity of bosses, and the math needed for their sprites, is exhausting to emulate 💔

While this is good to see, I still want a statement for when y'all promoted using AI to file complaints to payment processors at the start of all this. For a platform that prides itself on its hand-made games, that is off-brand. It was much harder to see the recent news in a sympathetic light! 💔

Why is this real? (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻ It was rotten enough that Itch didn't delist games. Their store pages can't be restored later, customers can't re-download games they paid money for, it's all deleted. Gone. But this response from them? Something smells upstairs. My confidence in Itch is shattered.
