Overall it just sucks to no longer be able to paint experiences about my own things too. The painful romanticism of a trauma bond, the familial nature of trafficking, the aftermath and emotional reflections. I want my art to make people uncomfortable and asserting that is illegal is terrible.

The more non-exploitative content that gets reported, censored, and filtered, the harder it is to locate and help actual child (and adult) victims. And here’s the hard truth. That’s what fascists want. Abuse and trafficking are literally tools of power that our world *thrives* on. They exploit.

If we call art, no matter how gross, CSAM, then it removes power from actual survivor-victims. That is *our* term. That is what we went through. Uncomfortable art, no matter the intent is *not* the same. No one was traumatized to make that image. It’s like how “triggered” was taken away from PTSD.
