Great post, Jo. I definitely had the feeling of "this is just something some teachers get and others don't" earlier in my career.

A great post Jo! Many people think building relationships is about knowing their interests and having a laugh and a joke. Like you've mentioned, a good teacher-pupil relationship is one where pupils can trust you, learn from you and are inspired to do well in your subject.
