I think the nicest thing you can do for an author or illustrator is email them to tell them you love their book ❤️ (Maybe don't mention Smooch City unless you reallyyyyyyy love the book, and bought 100 copies though...)

True Story!

Current mood after doing a ton of research for my graphic novel.

As I was looking at picture books last night for inspiration, it just made me feel so lucky to be among so many amazing picture book authors, and illustrators these days. (Feeling like this bulldog from a James Marshall painting)

I made this in Art School, and just found it in a box recently. Two things are true here... My sense of humor has not changed a bit, and tampons need tiny top hats.

We've had a day to pull a few things together, so here's a thread some more targeted info opposing the potential national book ban just proposed in the House of Representatives.

This morning my kid asked me if the song from the Nutcracker is 'Revenge of the Sugar Plum Fairy' And now I believe it should be.

I think everything would be better in the world if we created one currency... and it was Cinnamon Rolls.

What can you do with rutabagas that tastes good? I get them sometimes in my csa, and stumped for recipes.

I asked a kid what their favorite animal was and they responded... "Hippo..snake..spiderman.."

My 9 year old and I have discovered the key to happiness is simply changing the lyric 'Don't go breaking my Heart' to 'Don't go poop in my Car'
