it's nice when the powerful, plot relevant macguffins from the magic story actually show up and do powerful things in the game. i think the endstone is a great example of this done right. it's not a 4-of in every deck but it does see some play in vintage jewel shops lists. that's cool. 💎

multicolored cards tend to be more potent at better rates because they are harder to cast and can tap into more design space. so in eternal formats with abundant fixing you'd expect them to be common. ~13% of cards are 2+ colors, but i find myself running mostly mono-color cards in edh. what gives?

the different art for the urza lands have nicknames to help distinguish them, but i've always found them comically confusing. you've got: 🔥 "mountains" urza's tower ☀️ "plains" urza's tower 🌳 "forest" urza's tower but then you also have "tower", which is not urza's tower, but urza's mine (tower).

imo the opposite of this successful approach is when they print multiple cards showing a legend with no noticeable progression. niv is dynamic character who has done many interesting things but his cards don't show him doing anything. you could easily just swap the art/flavor text on these cards.
