Doing a PhD is - at heart - one long discussion with your mentor. The discussion changes over time - with unexpected turns and ups & downs - but through it all is a pair of people discussing a topic endlessly to make sense of it. PhD students: choose someone you like to talk to!

Our week of finals go from Friday to Thursday this Fall. I have an exam on Friday (10AM) and another on Monday (8 AM!) and then the last one on Thursday (not in the AM thankfully) 😬 Final gods were not happy with me this Fall. Well the last class has no final thankfully.

I went to the Tate Modern yesterday. In the Rothko room with all the Serious Art Connoisseurs there was a ~5 year old kid who walked up to each painting, pointed at it and shouted 'RECTANGLE' at each one in turn, then left the room.

Showed Hydra 🐙, microfluidics, DIY micrsocopes, and other cool things to folks visiting the campus for the Day at the Beach event. Thankful to all students who volunteered their valuable time to make the day awesome.
