I'd be worried that "the future that hasn't arrived" has an unsead "yet" after it, and that it's predicting RISC OS being useful after a nuclear war because - if you can find a working machine and you can power it - it doesn't rely on cloud-based SaaS to do anything. Because that WILL be dodo-like.

I’ve made a new version of the ObeySupport module that was supplied with Zap (and is not ubiquitous I was shocked to realise – ought to be). I’ve added a few new commands and fixed the ones that were broken. Are there any other *IFs that people would find useful? [ALT for syntax]

I’ve wanted this construction for decades, but the syntax (and more importantly the mechanism) just occurred to me – ten minutes later we have un-forked single-line IF. This is called “Functional THEN(” – I’ve highlighted the new syntax in cyan. How useful is that?! <glee>

Home. Longer drive back from #RISC_OS North (nearly four hours) than the drive up (three). Unusually long for the drive home, and unusually short for the drive up - but that, I suspect, is the benefit of heading up a day early. I will test this theory on future trips.

Spent far too long yesterday trying to animate the player character in a way I was happy with in Drop Rock: Powered Up, without success. Overnight, the solution came to me: Instead of putting the player STANDING ON a hoerboard, have him SITTING IN a hoverpod. Problem solved.

Big shout to the makers of ArchieSDK (on Gitlab), a GCC cross-compiler for early Acorn Archimedes (A3020 here). Very easy porting my Snowscape (Midwinter clone) to it. Can just write C/ASM in VSCode and then cross-compile straight over to the emulator or hardware. Very cool indeed. 😎 #retrogaming
