Summer colds really are the worst.

Thinking about my sweet Lulu that passed several years ago and a certain song I’d play and she knew it was play time. I’d dance silly and she would go grab a toy to play fetch with. I’m not I’ve listened to the song since. And even if I did, the magic would be gone.

A restaurant called “Don’t fill up on that” where all we serve are the free bread courses from other restaurants. Cheddar Bay biscuits, chips and salsa, brown bread from Outback, breadsticks from the Olive Garden, and the servers are always all “now don’t fill up on this” and we all laugh and laugh

My haiku for the 2025 Sakura Haiku Challenge to be included in an upcoming digital anthology.

Mine wasn’t selected as one of the three for publication, but good to see I made top ten. Two years ago my manuscript made Top 25 in this contest and was the one published this year by Alien Buddha Press. So I have some hope it will find a home still. Maybe next year.

this is writing advice btw. you can study the writers, the craft, but if you don’t go out there and love things and fail a lot, if you don’t sing badly and burn your toast and tell a governor to go to hell, you’re all frame and no engine

People younger just don’t understand, how 25 years ago you could truly get lost in a small town, no Google, just a paper map and the want of a road, where you stopped and asked a local where best place to eat in town was. No reviews to guide you, just trust in some small world.
