Families shouldn't need to make $180,000 to afford care for their babies. Rather than enact more tax cuts for billionaires, it is time for Congress to invest in child care, including living wages for the early educators who are the backbone of our economy.

A week after Trump illegally froze federal funding, many Head Start programs are still not able to access the money they need to keep their staff paid and doors open. Children, families, and early educators in communities across the country are the ones left in the lurch.

I can't believe this needs to be said, but taking food away from families will not help anyone work. If Republicans were actually interested in supporting workforce participation for parents with children they would be investing in child care instead of trying to slash it.
