I'm confused about the Acme property tax kerfuffle. This is a legal issue, not a political one. Tax rates are the same for everyone. Your taxes are higher if your prop has a higher value. Per state law, no property can receive special treatment. The mayor has no power to unilaterally lower taxes.

My high school had lots of vocational classes like auto mechanics and auto body. I really wish I'd had taken some of them. Our school took in a huge area in South Knoxville that included suburban neighborhoods and a very large rural area.

Roll call: Who is still without power? I'll go first - we are. 110 hours and counting. Note that I'm not complaining about NES or anything else. It is what it is. We're warm with the wood stove and able to shower at the downtown YMCA. Good meals most evenings cooked on the camp stove.

Farewell news and information. I have no internet connection at home (or power, of course) so 4-5 hour journeys into downtown for shower at the YMCA and work at the office are only times I'm connected to the outside world. Not all that terrible really. We have a wood stove to keep one room warm.

At a recent event, a Nashville Yards official noted that the 2 current NY hotels generate about 75,000 round trips to BNA annually, and that removing that traffic from the interstate via the Boring tunnel would be "significant." No, it wouldn't be significant . . . .

Anyone know the claim for total people/hour claimed for the Boring tunnel in Nashville? I've seen everything from 5,000/hour to 20,000. My back of napkin math says that would require over 1,000 cars. I'd like to see Gov. Lee admit that if this happens, it's just for a few rich people per day.
