7:47p/ Few more showers and we'll be done for the night. Dry Tuesday + Wednesday before a summertime pattern returns Thursday.

6:10p/ Think WillCo. will see the majority of the rain this evening. Nothing impressive right now, no lightning so far, just some heavy rain.

5:20p/ Storms picking up a little bit of steam as they head our direction. I'd say about 30-45 minutes until they enter our two counties. Our severe threat continues to be very low, but not zero. We're keeping an eye on things.

2p/ I'm no artist, but now that the earlier rain has moved out, we'll be watching to our west for any additional development. Main threat is heavy rain that could cause localized flash flooding, but we still have our very low-end threat of damaging straight-line winds and a brief, spin-up tornado.

NWS Nashville: “Strong wind gusts will be the primary threat but given the low level helicity can't rule out a tornado. High chance for heavy rain with any thunderstorms with a moderate risk of localized flash flooding...” Stay connected this afternoon/evening and have ways to receive warnings.

Additional showers/storms will be possible starting at about midday, lasting thru this evening. SPC has us outlooked with a 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds and 2% of a tornado, both within 25 miles. Stay connected throughout the day and have ways to receive warnings. 5:28a/ Some showers and storms rolling in, but all below severe limits. Heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds all possible.

1/2) The past several runs of the HRRR model have totally backed off on our overnight storm chances, holding off on storms until midday Monday. Could be a trend, could be totally wrong. Regardless, still have a way to wake up just in case a warning is issued for you. We'll be up watching things.

5:47p/ The showers have begun to really put the brakes on, while also fizzling out. It's possible some of us get away with being mostly dry this evening, especially the further S you are.

4:28p/ Definitely getting more of a heavy rain (perhaps some lightning) vibe from these showers/storms. Our damaging wind threat seems very low at this point.

3:14p/ Watching this segment of storms and how it behaves as it slowly moves towards us. Any strong storm will carry a low-end threat of some damaging straight-line winds along with the potential for isolated flash flooding.

12:26p/ Heavier showers now pushing thru the northern half of Davidson. Gusts up to 30mph possible with these.

11:21a/ Band of heavier showers moving N into WillCo, could be some gusty winds in there as well.

2:28p/ Storms quickly exiting our area. With the exception of a few quick showers possible later, looks like that is it for us today.

1:57p/ Heavy rain, lightning and gusts up to 40mph possible within this Special Weather Statement. The storm itself is moving ESE at 25mph.

115pm. Heavy rain along and south of I40.

Radar is starting to fill in. 1240pm.

Plan on rain and thunder on and off through the afternoon, with the best chance between roughly 2 and 5 p.m. Highs near 85 early, then temperatures slip into the low 80s as a front works in. More on that in the blog later today.

Subsevere wind gusts moving toward I-65. You'll notice it if you have wind chimes.

810pm. Rain is taking over both counties moving east. Lightning is really active in in SW Williamson. No severe concerns.

750pm. This strong storm is creeping into southern Williamson county.

Severe storm in Hickman Co is only moving 20 mph. But, assuming it makes it here...expect in W Williamson around 8:30, I-65 @ 9:30, E Davidson at 10:00. May speed up quite a bit, so remain flexible.

6:58p/ Cluster is slowly but surely creeping towards our area. If it makes it here - heavy rain, gusty winds and lighting would be the hazards. Remain flexible with your outdoor plans tonight. Those at Roo should secure their tents/belongings.

5:32p/ Watching this cluster of storms as it slowly moves east. Not totally sure if it’ll make it here. Embrace the uncertainty.

New SPC update outlooks us with a 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds within 25 miles for today. We'll be watching to our NW as a line of storms moves SE into our area, sometime overnight tonight. Models are notorious for not handling these events very well. More in the blog soon.

Rain is done for the evening, although continue to be cautious of any overflowing creeks/streams and ponding on roads. We stay dry Wednesday and Thursday, with heat index values getting around 100°.

6:18p/ Storm has popped up over College Grove but moving SE quickly. Light rain taking its sweet time heading out, will likely linger over the next hour or two.

5:29p/ No longer any portion of our two counties under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, and it appears our severe threat is over for the evening. However, a Flash Flood Warning for much of Davidson Co. remains in effect until 7p. If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around - don't drown.
