The bots are running amok, and they are using Microsoft, Google, and Amazon's cloud services to stage their attacks from. This is from my security dashboard. Microsoft's cloud servers is the single biggest source of 'bots' hitting my site.

I will never understand why publishers keep thinking that 'more content' is a solution to anything. This has not been true for more than a decade, and even back in 2015, where social traffic was at its peak, it was still a bad idea.

Can we please stop this incessant focus in the press on who is winning and who is losing? The entire mess that we are in is happening exactly because of this focus. Winning and losing means we are in a state of conflict. It is the opposite of collaboration and progress.

This week, I have been hit really hard by a particular type of writer's block, better called 'revision paralysis'. It's when you try to write an article, and you are writing non-stop, but you just cannot get it to flow the way you want to, so you keep rewriting it.

What I find confounding: In most statements about how the Iran war - supposedly - accelerates the build-up of nuclear power plants, there is almost no mention of where that nuclear fuel is imported from. The import dependencies are just as grave, and worse.

Why are people smoking? A person on my street is about my age, and two months ago I stopped seeing him. It turns out that he has been hospitalized because of lung cancer. Before that, I would see him outside his home several times a day smoking a cigarette. Current outlook: Most likely wont survive.

AI detectors are basically a scam. They can't do what they claim to do. Here is an example. I asked one of the AI detectors to check an article I wrote in 2015 (long before AI was even a thing). It claimed 32% of it was AI generated.

It's a very windy day today. At 4 AM, the entire country of Denmark consumed 4860 MW, with windmills providing 5082 MW of power... so wind provided 105% of our total electricity needs. The result is that our electricity prices today will be -2.83 øre/kWh.

I just finished with the biggest project using Claude AI yet (I was rebuilding an internal systems)... It took place over 830 chat messages, and when I export the entire thing to PDF, the chat conversation is 293 pages long. Claude also created several documentation files + 9450 lines of code.

It's becoming impossible to buy a house in my town. A house just came up for sale. It was previously sold for 5.4 million in 2018, and now it's up for sale again... this time for 8.99 million. I mean... the only you can afford to buy a house here is if you already own a very expensive house.

I was watching a review of the Ryobi patio scrubber ... and one word: 'micro-plastics'. No seriously, nylon brushes produce an insane amount of micro-plastic particles, so making it spin over a rough stone surface, and then wash it off will basically fill your garden with microplastics.
