The media's role in society has become corrupted and too much of the industry has lost its way. Its aim should be to inform people but, far too often, they seek to influence and manipulate instead.

Some crazy dude at a sci-fi convention tried to shoot me with a replica Federation weapon from Star Trek. Fortunately, I was unphased but my friend was stunned.

It's my birthday soon and, like every year around this time, I'm dealing with intense introspection. Usually, that results in worsening self-esteem and increased self-loathing but hopefully it'll be different this time. I really need it to be as the world sucks enough already.

I'm very much on board with the Greens on most issues but Polanski is absolutely wrong in suggesting that Putin isn't genocidal, considering his actions in Ukraine. He's every bit as genocidal as other war criminals like Netanyahu or Trump.

Legitimate concerns when it's anti-immigrant. "Fuck right off" when you're pro-immigrants. This government is dysfunctional, deluded and deplorable.

We've deified wealth and the wealthy so much, they no longer fear any consequences for their actions, no matter how heinous. Until that changes, society will never truly progress and we'll forever be at the mercy of corrupt tyrants and megalomaniacal billionaires.

In an ideal world, I'd oppose media regulation but given the propensity of so many of them to print outright lies and quasi-propaganda without any real consequences or repercussions, I'm growing more in favour of it. I want more impartiality as we simply don't get it right now.

Mass arrests of people peacefully protesting a genocide & now legislation to punish protesting bigots at uni are signs of a deeply unwell society. This Labour government has displayed a worrying propensity for puritanical & illiberal policies. It's little wonder why they're so incredibly unpopular.

Palantir should be nowhere near the NHS and the fact our government gave such a despicable, fascist company a contract demonstrates their incompetence. Palantir should be on trial for aiding ICE and Israel in their many crimes, not rewarded for their malevolence.

If your only defence of Starmer and his government is that the Tories or Farage are worse, you've got a terribly weak argument. That is the lowest bar possible and they're barely clearing it. The only question is whether it's due to incompetence, corruption or simple malfeasance.

In these times when they are facing vilification and persecution, not to mention attacks on their very identity and existence, it's more important than ever to stand with and for trans folk. They do not deserve to be demonised or worse for being true to who they really are.

The antisemitic attacks on Jewish targets in London are utterly abhorrent. They must be condemned in the strongest possible terms and the attackers must face justice for their crimes. There's too much hate in the world already, we don't need more.

As well as my severe anxiety and depression, I also struggle with chronically low self-esteem and a complete absence of confidence. I question everything I do and say, no matter how trivial, thinking I'm just annoying everyone. I hate my brain.

I don't know whether its because my mental health is somehow worse or it's the after effects of the deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, but I've just not been as invested in the football this season. I still love the game but it just doesn't feel as important as it used to.

Attacking the Pope for being "weak on crime" and advocating peace is insane enough already. Then posting an AI slop picture of yourself as a Christ-like figure is utterly deranged. How anyone who considers themselves to be Christian can support him is beyond belief.

Just a quick heads up. I refuse to engage with any transphobes, no matter how compelling they believe their arguments to be. Trans rights are not something to be debated, contested or challenged. Please don't waste your time trying to convince me otherwise.

I hope that the crushing defeat of Orban marks a new dawn for Hungary and is also the catalyst for the turning of the tide against far-right authoritarians across the globe. The downfall of any and all fascist groups and regimes cannot come soon enough.

I've loved Star Trek, ever since I was a little kid. This wondrous vision of this incredible egalitarian utopia, free from prejudice and hate, has not only inspired me but also helped to shape my political beliefs and ideals. It has never felt as distant in my lifetime as it does right now.

Still struggling with my mental health whilst also feeling introspective, which usually ends in worsening insecurities and increased self-loathing. Usually, I'll retreat from the world to deal with it but that becoming less effective. So I'll just have to work through it.
