Schools across Winnipeg are closed today due to severe winter weather. For the safety of our students and staff and based on the Winnipeg Police Service advisory issued this morning to avoid road travel and shelter in place, the decision has been made to close all schools today, Dec. 18, 2025.

Today is Lohri! For people of Punjab, the festival of Lohri holds a great significance as it marks the harvesting season in Punjab and the end of the winter season. The main event is making of a huge bonfire which is symbolic of the homage to the Sun God for bringing in warmth.
