Our buddy classes prepared acts of generosity for each other. Younger buddies created bookmarks for older buddies. Older buddies selected books for their younger buddies and wrote thoughtful notes. When classes got together, they swapped gifts and celebrated the love of reading in community!

Ninoshe Kelsey, LRSD Divisional Vice-Principal of Indigenous Education, generously shared her time with Grade 3/4s today. She brought her kind, fun ninoshe (auntie) vibes to her storytelling, shared an important lesson about taking only what we need, and taught us many Ojibwe words. Miigwech!

We were so honoured to have Cassandra Woolever, from Métis Branded, visit the library learning commons! Cassandra shared her story, and helped our school community create a beautiful sash. Each student was given the opportunity to use the loom to add their own touch to the school community sash. ❤️

Thank you to Brett Megarry, radio host from 680 CJOB, for visiting our Grade 1s and 2s today! Brett made us laugh reading Norman Didn't Do It (Yes, He Did) by Ryan T. Higgins and is already looking forward to visiting again next year! Happy March Into Reading Month and St. Patrick's Day!

Maarsii to Seine River MLA Billie Cross for visiting the Grade 7/8s during March Into Reading Month! Billie read Métis Like Me by Tasha Hilderman and Risa Hugo, shared a wealth of knowledge about Métis culture, and spent lots of time answering the students' thoughtful questions.

MYRCA Club is in full swing in the Highbury Library Learning Commons. Students come to read and to work on projects inspired by the books. We've been creating bookmarks, book trailers, and playlists inspired by the nominees and are excited to share our final projects with the club! 📖❤️✨
