I still get a kick out of the glasses store I go to having a freaking REAL library cart. Really brings the whole ‘librarians need glasses’ stereotype a grain of truth. Also pictured, my new glasses WITH additional correction caused by the scratch from the gremlin cat.

The boys don’t usually spend their whole day with me, usually they disappear occasionally to play and sleep all over the house…today and for the last two weeks as I deal with all of these losses, they’ve been bringing their games wherever I am!

I’m normally much perkier here, turns out when life hands you multiple shots to the gut in succession … you just don’t have the energy.

The vision in the eye with the scratched cornea FINALLY recovering after two weeks of double vision and wearing my driving glasses even in school so I don’t trip. Still slightly off, but I can read and drive without glasses now so I’ll call it a win.

Someone just told me Dolly Parton was not Appalachian and her family was not hillbilly and I’m very confused. I get the Smoky Mountains are a little south of WV, but … Dolly’s upbringing is as hillbilly (respectfully and complementarily) as you get AND Pigeon Forge is very much an Appalachian town.

my mom took my 3 yo nephew (her grandson) to get a pedicure because he was begging after his sister got a mani. She took pictures, gave him cool sunglasses to wear, and they had a ton of fun. I'm just saying my particular set of boomers are actually pretty damned awesome.

I’ve gotten a ton of new followers today so I’m assuming something I said was funny. Not sure what, so have a kitten in a banana. His name is Haku and he’s a good boy.

I bought them bougie velvet collars. I’m not even ashamed. Yes there will be pictures when they come in, but probably not until the collars actually fit.

Ok but … WHY IS HAKU BIGGER ALREADY???? He met my doggie guest Maple, and she was on her best behavior which is amazing. I just can’t believe he already seems bigger after only 3 days! Kittens, they grow so fast!

My brave son Haku! He came to introduce himself today and I can’t get over how chatty he is. The stinker also ate like ten treats because I left the container open…he’s only 3 months so I’ll let it slide. Growing kittens need their energy!

Kitten update: The bed lump has moved, the litter box has been used, and food has been nommed. Kittens still hide from me. I may bring Maple the Very Good Girl to act as a puppy go between because the kittens lived with doggos before me.

There is an entire three-hour documentary called EX LIBRIS about the New York Public Library system, and it is enchanting and wonderful, and if you have Kanopy (which you can likely get through your own library, for crying out loud), I encourage you in the strongest terms to watch it.
