Peterborough, UK.
The weather may be a bit crappy but on the positive side, Rutland Water looks healthy. 👍🏻

I passed this classic sign today. It’s not my photo though as I didn’t get a chance to stop, but it did make me laugh.

On the train to the Ely beer festival this morning I noticed that the RTV 31 is being dismantled. Hopefully to be preserved rather than to be scrapped.

Really nice in the Frothblowers this afternoon. Very quiet and relaxing. Nice to have a dark beer on too. I’ve had 3 of them but I can’t remember what it was.

An 11% sweet sipping stout in my Stoneworks glass. A sad reminder of another great bar we lost this year. Here’s to you Steve, Shaun, Nikita and co.

So very true and quite sad, as a society we’ve definitely been conditioned by capitalism.

This is always a great treat in the winter months. Time to crack open my first of the year. Smooth, oaky and very boozy.

I’m quite content. I’ve left it very late but I’ve finally had a few warm mulled ciders at my local micropub (The Frothblowers). And very nice they were too. 🍻

I love this story, I save it in my favourites and read it every year. I’m not religious but every year consider attending Kings College Chapel.

If you also have a real Christmas tree, consider paying Sue Ryder to collect and recycle it in January. If you’re in Peterborough, your donation will go to funding Thorpe Hall, a resource you hope you never need but is there if you do.

Introvert language translated: “Maybe I’ll come” - I’m not coming “I’ll let you know” - I’m not coming “I’m not sure yet” - I’m very sure that I’m not coming “I’ll try and come” - I won’t try anything “I’ll think about it” - I won’t think about anything, I’m not coming

Dear YouTube video people who are showing me how to do a human thing, Please just tell me how to do the thing without minutes of building up to telling me how to do the thing. Your 7 minute video could be 45 seconds. Best wishes and thank you for showing me how to do the thing, Katie

Easily one of the most beautiful film scores ever recorded. It’s just lovely, Stephen Oliver died far before his time.

I called by the site of the Sutton Cross this morning. I was quite sad/disappointed to see the state of the site. I really thought that it may have been restored again by now. I took the picture with the cross intact in 2015.

For the first time in a couple of years I risked crossing the footbridge by the River Nene. There’s a hungry tree close by you have to sneak past quietly.
