While you’re all busy writing, we’re back in the studio, this time reading the top FLESH Fiction stories for the podcast! I’m currently taking bets on whether I’ll be able to hold my sh!t together long enough to get even one story in the can. Any suggestions on how to overcome my awkwardness?

If you’re on Team Ed, you can ignore what I’m about to say… Check to make sure your story has: - a beginning (intriguing setup of character and their story problem/goal) - middle (conflict, escalating tension), & - end (character change, answer to the dramatic question)

The great irony of ChatGPT's obsession with em dashes is that it's taught me to love them even more. So now I'm using em dashes way more often, even though every time I worry it makes me sound like ChatGPT. Is this how it starts? The merging of human and machine??

It’s far from an epiphany but these days I’m really noticing how it’s the writing of a movie that determines whether it will last the rest of time. You can have all the budget and talent in the world, but without good writing, forget it!
