LRT yeah it is wild how much history gets dropped. Ppl laugh at like some LATAM or SEA country for having some weird knock off or emulation clone console but the reality is that's all they could afford, or that's all they had on the market. And it's a core piece of their gaming culture

it incites very strong emotion from the reader bc it's easy to just take it, or whatever part got reposted, at surface level. this is why doom and panic posting is so common. you're forced to summarise your point in the first post bc that's the one ppl will knee jerk react from

and bc the microblog format leaves no room for detail, everything is a hard line binary view written to attract attention. follow up posts in thread are easily missed (common feed settings will cause them to not even show up on the timeline), and foster more nested fragmented debates.

so much of social media is full of "conversations" where each person is trying to double down hard on what they believe so everything gives off the vibe of a heated debate instead of ppl actually having a discussion. it's tiring tbh. it's a relief when you come across a rare actual conversation.
