Seeing the Cygames news and hearing about Hoyo's similar efforts makes me very apprehensive about how Hypergryph and Yostar might conduct themselves in the future. Arknights has made me happy, but I am ready and willing to drop all of it if AK or EF flagrantly disrespects its own prior work.

I'm not usually a morning person but I'm glad I woke up for Argick's GDQ run of Lylat Wars/Star Fox 64. This man has the commentary stamina of the gods even when debuffed with whatever got him sick over the new year, and I'm wide awake as he's absolutely crushing this childhood favorite of mine.

I should also mention: I've stopped posting when I go live on Twitch here since it doesn't really drive much traffic and I've reduced my schedule to just Saturday nights anyway. I know it's standard practice and it's not wrong or anything, but I just don't feel like spamming the airwaves, I guess.

This is why you should use the Subscriptions feed to keep up with YouTube channels. Never fully trust the algorithm. (literally just watched a couple of hyper's animations for nostalgia's sake and this is what it gets me apparently)

Scanning the SacAnime posts today and not seeing any Arknights stuff has alleviated some FOMO, admittedly. It hasn't had much draw for me to go in recent years, but it is the closest con for me, so I do miss it a little.

My head is certainly plagued with concepts after reading the headlines today, but it is also burdened with the fact that I gleefully discovered that you can equip 4 Tamagotchi melee weapon charms to your hands and feet in Warframe if you wield sparring weapons like the (Coda) Hirudo. Enjoy.

After going to the gym near the end of last year with my fiancée I find myself playing, preferring, and appreciating Ring Fit Adventure today for one simple reason: it keeps count of my reps for me so that I don't have to clumsily count my sets while my heart is still pounding from cardio.

Trifecta update: I'm actually baffled as to how strong my Aesthetic Amaretto has kept despite being 1: Pre-ground, & 2: the oldest of the bunch. The trifecta is smooth and sweet, but the AA makes it *lucid.* And what's wild is that I have all this mixed with ~300 mL of warm milk! It's that potent!

It's always interesting seeing the different time zones of the people you follow light up the timeline on the hours. Naturally I'm going to disrupt that by posting before midnight in my time zone because I got no fun plans for this new year's eve, but I hope y'all have a good one regardless.

The talismans in Arknights IS6 remind me of that one funny video trend where you'd throw American cheese slices on your pets' heads and watch as they blindly stagger in confusion. It was during this off-stream run moment that inspiration struck hard enough for me to doodle it on a sticky note.

The real test of whether or not Twitter has lost anything is if my Following feed (NOT For You/Discover) is even a fraction of what it is today in 3 weeks. I am super done with everyone trying to play the algo number game getting disappointed, leaving, and not posting for the followers they gained.

If there's any lesson to be taken from another Twitter migration adding to the pile, it's that inertia is a force in and of itself and you cannot break people's habits easily. Perhaps one day we'll move on from this site and posting format too, but for now, this place is one rung above. For now.

Also, as an OSRS player, I find it rich that the people who have a YouTube second monitor playlist the size of the Moon while they grind complain about a YouTube video being too long (yes I know the actual heart of the complaints is the long-windedness of my articulation this is me being cheeky)

The first few comments on my OSRS video are folks saying I should edit it down which, y'know, fair. If nothing else this goes to show just how much of a difference putting in effort does. I made it as a break from doing that, but even doing it in one continuous take isn't 'good enough', evidently.

GenAI thumbnails on YouTube gaming videos have hit a new low for me. Never mind picking up a pencil, you're telling me that slopmongers can't be bothered to take screenshots from the video game they are making a video of, which has iconic assets that real humans conceptualized and drew or modeled.

Life truly is funny sometimes. Especially when it decides to give me minor yet debilitating neck pain during a period when I really want to get stuff done and start being on camera again. I feel like an android with a neck joint that hasn't seen the sweet caress of WD-40 in years.

Spending money on coffee is admittedly a luxury given my situation, but spending it on an artist's label that I trust to be good every time(namely @miski.bsky.social's) makes me happy. Might be past a critical point with the coffee tin stack, though. Needed to make some room on my pincloth too...

Steam isn't my friend and neither should it be yours but (un)fortunately it's good at keeping track of what I played on its platform this year, which includes Blue Prince and Radix Chronicle, the latter of which came out right before that big indie sequel everyone and their mother played.

I find myself in an awkward spot in Warframe. I still very much like it; it was and still is a cornerstone of my gaming pedigree. However, I'm 3 for 3 now on 'return to the game for an update, experience what it has to offer, then feel underpowered & stop because I'm still missing something'.
